SNACKS on STRINGS
2016
In the context of the opening of the textile exhibition ØJET (based on "The Story of the Eye") by Siff Pristed and Marie Boye Carlsen I developed a snack-concept to fit the attractive yet repulsive aesthetics and themes of the novel by George Bastille.
The idea was to serve a combination of foods that were not immediately identifiable in a playfull way to challenge people's willinges to try something new.
Inspired by the candy jewellery that most people know from their childhood, the idea of serving foods on a string added an extra element of appeal and challenged the visitors to perform a rather unpractical act of eating things of a string.
Materials: Nylon string, mushrooms, cookies, sausage, cactus fruit, cotton candy, figs, dehydrated fruit, rice crackers, turkish delight etc.
